  • Sleep is in fact a dynamic process with three distinct and necessary cycles - light sleep to deep sleep and finally, to rapid eye movement (REM) sleep.

 

  • Rapid eye movement or known as REM sleep which always associates with dreams, occurs where our eyes flicker back and forth rapidly. It usually begins about 70 to 90 minutes after we fall asleep. To achieve optimum relaxation of the mind we should have around 25% REM sleep per night as REM sleep is not as restful as Non-REM sleep.
